Communal Yom Yerushalayim Event, Sunday  May 29

05/27/2022 02:31:30 PM

Dear Friends and Members of Zichron Mordechai,

I hope everyone is well.

As you know, this coming Sunday is the 28th of Iyar, the date on which, 55 years ago, Jewish sovereignty was restored to the whole city of Yerushalayim, including the Har HaBayis and the Mekom HaMikdash, for the first time since before the churban of the Bayis Sheini - undoubtedly a momentous achievement with significant political as well as religious ramifications.

This year, there will be a special community-wide celebration in Teaneck of what has become known as Yom Yerushalayim taking place on Sunday morning at Bnai Yeshurun, co-sponsored by the area Shuls, including ours.

The morning program will feature a celebratory davening, a festive breakfast, singing and dancing, and three Shiurim, including one from HaRav Hershel Schachter, shlita. Details may be found on the attached announcement sheet.

Although I unfortunately will be unable to attend myself due to a prior commitment, I urge anyone who can to participate in all or at least part of the program. We humbly thank HaKadosh Baruch Hu for giving us the privilege of once again controlling our most precious religious sites, and we are mispallel that He should enable us to witness the completion of the Geulah process with Binyan Beis HaMikdash B'Meheirah Veyameinu.

By'didus Rabbah,

M. Taubes
