 NORPAC Washington Mission

Dear Friends and Members of Zichron Mordechai,

As I noted in Shul yesterday, one of the challenges that we face in today's world is navigating our relationship with the society and the cultural milieu in which we live while maintaining our unfaltering commitment to the values of the Torah. One national arena in which we must be involved, with appropriate thought, care, and dignity, is the political one - especially as it impacts our beloved community in Eretz Yisrael and acheinu Bnai Yisrael who reside there.

When Yaakov Avinu sensed the danger that he was in as Eisav and his entourage approached, he split his camp into two in order to ensure survival.  We are presently living at a point in our history where Klal Yisrael is almost evenly split into two camps - that in Eretz Yisrael (which now actually has the larger population - and growing) and that here in the United States. It goes without saying that the two camps must interact and work with each other for our overall survival. We who are living here in the US must therefore do everything we can to help ensure that the community in Eretz Yisrael, unfortunately facing an increasingly hostile world, will continue not only to survive, but to thrive.

What if you could do a most meaningful act to help make that happen - in only one hour...without leaving your seat in your home or office?  Through the power of modern technology, you can!

I therefore invite you to join me on this year's NORPAC Virtual Mission, which enables participants to present our case to Congressional offices from all across the country, and which will again be conducted via videoconference (no hours of travel, no rumpled jackets from sitting on a bus, no rising in the wee hours of the morning to attend a vasikin minyan - unless you so choose to do so yourself!). Some 90% of last year's Mission participants confirmed that the Mission was indeed solidly effective at successfully advocating for Israel's and Jewish needs by communicating through videoconferencing (since it could not then be done in person due to the pandemic).

I ask you to please consider registering today, since the Mission is taking place next week, from Monday, May 9 - Thursday, May12.  You will be able to choose which day(s)/time(s) work best with your personal schedule.  Additional important information and details may be found below.

You can make a real difference for Klal Yisrael through your actions, and model this important chinuch message to the next generations.

I hope you will be able to participate.

By'didus Rabbah,

M. Taubes
